1. What is the name of your clothing line?
The name of the clothing line is RLT, which stands for Respect. Loyalty. Trust.
2. When did you decide to start a clothing line?
Well probably about two years ago. I have a younger brother who actually makes clothes and has a clothing line called Designs By Shawn (DBS), so that played a role. And with the support, motivation, and feedback I received from others, one day I was like, Why not! I know my work ethic and drive for things I'm interested in, and this could be fun and possibly big, so Why not! Now we are here talking about it.
3. Is your clothing line inspired by any current fashion trends?
As of right now, there's no other fashion brand or trend which inspires at the moment. Maybe once we expand, things will change. Right now, everything is based on the name and the brand. There are a few brands out there I think are dope.
4. How will your clothing line stand out (what makes it unique)?
I think the name and concept will make it stand out from others because it's the virtues of life. It's not like there is a group of us who put our names together to come up with another name to call our brand. Mine is straight to the point, with a powerful meaning. Just think about it: You cannot spell ReLaTionship without the RLT.
5. Will you have a target consumer?
The target consumer will be everyone who believes in RLT and tries to live by it. The college student will play a major role, but in the same breath, the brand can relate to people in the urban communities who never step foot on a college campus, because again, Respect, Loyalty, Trust are the virtues of life, an everyday thing. It's something that can be taught and take you a long way in life. You can have the best relationship with someone, but as soon as you cross the line (which would be one of the three), everything could possibly fall apart. I know one thing for sure: If this happens, the relationship will never have that fire and desire it once had.
